1984    Establishment of Reftrade

1991    Splitting of REFCON HOLDING

1995    Activities increase with new management

1999    Creation of Reftrade Rental BV; the rental fleet increases and becomes the vanguard of the organisation. With the introduction of the (Super) Volume-range a new productline is being created. The demand for these units is big.

2001    The demand for modified containers for the offshore industry increases and Reftrade introduces its BASICS EN12079 offshore reefers which comply with the European and British offshore standards. Reftrade ESPANA is being created to better serve the Spanish market. The operation is led from Murcia.

2002    Since years Reftrade has had plans to open a local office in France to expand its activities. Reftrade FRANCE is establihed just north of Paris. For the terminal -and reefer service activities Reftrade creates a seperate entity named Mainport Reefer Services.

2006    Reftrade FRANCE turns out to be quite succesful and a new office and own storage facilities seem necessary. In Crépy en Valois (40km. north of Paris) a piece of land of 4500m² is purchased and developed.

2007    Reftrade FRANCE takes of over ECS company, a big competitor in France and by doing so doubles its fleet. Reftrade sells its share in Reftrade ESPANA due to the difficult market conditions in Spain. Reftrade ESPANA continues its activities under the name TERRAMAR and focuses on container parts. Reftrade introduces its own design; a DNV2.7-1 certified refrigerated offshore container, the PREMIUM. The main advantage compared to other containers on the market is that the PREMIUM has been designed as an offshore container; smart and rugged. Available as 10' and 20'. The Reftrade group moves to the former MORCON-terminal at the Droogdokweg in Rotterdam where it will have 3600m² of covered workshops.

2008    Within a year Mainport Reefer Services takes over the activities and terminal contracts of MORCON. MRS becomes Mainport Rotterdam Services and will have a 90.000m² big terminal with water connection. Reftrade starts talks with company AB-Cool from Aberdeen of Scotland, which would like to introduce Reftrade's productline in the UK, especially to serve the offshore industry.

2010    Reftrade decides to focus on its core business and sells its share in MRS. MRS has broken records by handling over 240.000 containers. Reftrade introduces the Maxi Specials; assembled refrigerated containers for more flexibilty and storage capacity.

2012    Reftrade becomes the biggest "event cooler" of the BENELUX. Especially events like the famous Zwarte Cross, LowLands and Misteryland contribute to that succes. Reftrade acquires 50% of AB-Cool and the company turns into Reftrade UK.

2013    Reftrade FRANCE spreads all over France by offering deliveries from depots in Lyon, Bordeaux and Tours.

2014    Reftrade Rental rents a record number of containers. The offshore containers take a considerable piece of the pie.

2015    Reftrade implements a quality management system which has been certified by  Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance according to ISO 9001-2008.

2016    Reftrade has secured a multi-million contract with international shipping and delivery company Chronopost International, to install refrigerated cold rooms on multiple platforms and distribution hubs throughout France. Reftrade’s French division, market leaders in lease of refrigerated containers and temperature controlled units, secured the contract in the back of Chronopost launching its Chronofresh line.
